How to make Golden Milk(Turmeric Latte) at home

Ingredients

Water: I am using water for evaporation and also prevent the Scorching of milk at the bottom of a pan.

Milk: Milk is A great source of calcium, milk is used in our everyday beverages and here also, So I am using dairy milk as the fat content is more for absorbing turmeric’s healing compounds, but you can use any of your favourites like skimmed or low-fat milk.

We can use plant-based milk options like almond, soy, coconut, oat or cashew milk instead of dairy milk for the dairy-free variation.

Turmeric: I have used ground turmeric powder in this recipe, but you can even use fresh turmeric.

Sweetener: For sweetener, I have used honey, which is really good to calm down a sore throat. You can use Honey, Maple Syrup, Sugar, or Jaggery, any of these sweeteners, as per your taste and choice.

Other spices: Cinnamon, ginger powder, black pepper powder and Nutmeg. These spices have a lot of health benefits, and they also give a nice flavour and aroma.

You can also add some vanilla extract for a delicious subtle hint of vanilla.

Method:

  • Add all the ingredients, excluding the sweetener to the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer.
  • Give the mixture a good stir and let it simmer for 5-8 minutes.
  • Make sure to stir it occasionally. So that the turmeric powder and cinnamon don’t clump up.
