Watermelon Granita:
Today I am going to share a post on a How to make Watermelon granita? it is the simplest dessert, its healthy and completely incredibly delicious.
When it’s this hot outside, granita is a perfect semi-frozen treat for hot summer days. Granita is an Italia style flavoured ice, it tastes completely amazing, except without the pounds of syrup on ice. It is so amazingly refreshing, a real cooler-down in this summer heat and ideal for pretty much every occasion. The Granita we are making today fall somewhere between slush and sorbet on the texture scale.
For Watermelon granita, you only need a watermelon, lime, and a liquid sweetener for this recipe. I used agave nectar, but you could also use maple syrup, sugar syrup or honey. If you’re going to use any sweetener, just taste test to ensure it’s not too sweet.
Now blend these ingredients all together and then freeze for 3 hrs. Three hours later, scrape it with a fork to get the granita and shaved ice consistency, then serve. Let’s make this easy summer dessert before the summer is over friends. What’s great about a granita is that there’s no need for an ice cream maker.
I have a hard time finding seedless watermelons, so I make my life easier and cut the watermelon into chunks, put them in my food processor and puree them. Then I strain it and add the freshly squeezed lime juice and sweetener. Before adding any sweetener in this watermelon pure, you just need taste the sweetness. if it’s ripe and already sweet you might not need as much sugar.
