Ripe Banana Raita Recipe
Today I am going to share a post on how to make Ripe Banana Raita Recipe. Kele ka Raita is a simple and easy-to-make Indian side dish. Banana Raita is an Indian accompaniment. Compared to other raitas, Kele ka Raita is a unique recipe. The flavour of mashed bananas goes perfectly with the creamy texture of yoghurt, resulting in a delicious side dish.
It’s spicy, tangy, and full of flavours. Banana (Kele ka) Raita is a real outburst of flavours and is super simple to prepare. Banana (Kele ka) Raita is basically a Chopped Banana whisked in fresh yoghurt and flavoured with Rock salt and cumin powder it is one of the quickest and easiest dishes in My Kitchen. In this Banana raita, cumin powder and black salt and sugar are the most important components, which give it a taste.

Banana Raita is one of my favourite recipes. You can enjoy it as a dessert or as a side dish along with a meal. Bananas are always available in India. Here is how to make it.
How to make Ripe Banana Raita (step by step with Photo)
Ingredients:
- Fresh curd: You can use regular dairy curd/yoghurt or plant-based curd as required. Greek yoghurt can also be used.
- Cumin powder: Always use Roasted cumin powder for good taste and aroma.
- Sweetener: You can use powdered sugar or jaggery its quantity depends on the sweetness of the Banana.
- Black salt: as per your taste.
- Banana sliced or Mashed: Overripe bananas are sweeter, so always use slightly overripe bananas for this raita.
- Salt(optional): you can use any salt like sea salt, rock salt etc.
- Red Chilli Powder: optional
Preparation:
Peel the bananas and cut them into slices.
You can mash the slices coarsely using a fork masher you can also use sliced bananas instead of mashed bananas.
Method:
Add 1 cup of chilled Curd into the deep vessel and whisk the yoghurt.
Add 1 cup of chopped or mashed Ripe Banana and roasted cumin powder to the curd.
Now, add Red chilli powder, salt, black salt and sugar.
Mix them well. Our Banana Raita is Ready To Serve.
Pour into serving Bowl. Garnish it with a sliced banana, cumin powder and red chilli powder.
Refrigerate it for 10 minutes and serve chilled.

Suggestion Notes:
- DO NOT ADD WATER. Raita should be thick.
- You can adjust the quantity by adding more yoghurt according to your requirement and taste.
- You can also use Rock salt(sendha namak ) during vrat/ fasting.
- Sweetness can be adjusted according to your taste in this recipe.
- You can add some chopped green chilli for a spicy punch.
- Always use fresh and thick curd. It should not be sour.
- You can garnish it with some dry fruits and nuts.
- It can also serve at the end as a simple and healthy dessert.
- Chill the raita before serving, it tastes best when chilled.
- Storage: I will suggest you make this raita fresh and not store the same. In case you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and finish them the same day.

Materials
- 1 cup Fresh yoghurt/ curd /dahi
- 1 cup Ripe banana Kela
- 1/2 tsp Roasted cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Black Salt
- Red chilli Powder to taste
- 1 tsp Sugar or sugar powder
- Salt /Rock Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat the curd to a smooth consistency.
- Add 1 cup of chopped or mashed Ripe Banana and roasted cumin powder to the curd.
- Add red chilli powder, salt, sugar and black salt into the beaten curd and mix well.
- Garnish with sliced banana, cumin powder and red chilli powder.
- Refrigerate it for 10 minutes and serve chilled.
- Banana raita is ready to be served chilled.
