Banana Rose Lassi Recipe

Today I am sharing the Banana Rose Lassi recipe, one of my Kids’ favourites. The combination of banana, Curd and Rose Syrup is just sinfully delicious. This Creamy and energizing Rose Lassi is full of Rose flavour. Lassi is very popular in north India, especially during the summer. There are many variations of Sweet Lassi, and Rose Lassi is one of them. Check out my Mango Lassi and Khoya Lassi as well.
Rose lassi is a fragrant and cooling summer drink made with fresh yoghurt/curd, rose syrup and dried toasted nuts.

The Banana Rose Lassi is a flavourful variation of a regular banana Lassi. It is a healthy, easy, and delicious summer drink. This healthy banana Lassi gets its flavour from a touch of rose syrup and toasted nuts. I am sure that you will like this drink.

How to make Banana Rose Lassi

Ingredients required for Banana Rose Lassi

  • Banana(frozen): Frozen bananas improve the thickness and texture of your Lassi. Just slice a big banana and put it on a plate in the freezer for about 2 hours, or do it before you go to bed for your next morning Lassi.
  • Yoghurt: Make sure you are using fresh and thick curd. The beverage won’t taste good if the Dahi is sour. Swap it with plant-based yoghurt if you are vegan.
  • Rose syrup: You can use any Rose syrup of your choice. I use Rooh Afza for this recipe.
  • Sweetener(optional): Add any of the sweeteners of your choice like honey, maple syrup, date syrup etc
  • Chilled milk or water(optional): Add more or less to adjust the consistency. You can replace it with water or plant-based milk.
  • Note – You can use water instead of milk because some people avoid mixing yoghurt and milk.

Topping(Optional)

  • Garnish it with pistachio slivers and dried rose petals.
  • Nuts: chopped and Toasted Like coconut flakes, almonds, almonds, pistachios, sesame seeds wall nuts etc.

See quantities and complete instructions in the recipe card.

Method

  • Put the sliced banana, curd, rose syrup and sweetener in the blender and blend until creamy,  smooth and foamy.
  • Add water or milk if required.
  • Pour into glass and Top with rows of coconut flakes, almonds, pistachios, sesame seeds, wall nuts, etc. Serve chilled.

Notes: Make sure all the dairy products are chilled and frozen fruits. Avoid adding ice to the lassi. You may keep ice surrounding the lassi glass until it is very chilled.

Suggestions:

  • Protein: For more protein, add more hemp seeds, chia seeds, or your favourite protein powder.
  • Nut Butter: You can add nuttiness and extra sticking power with a tablespoon of peanut, almond or other nut butter.
  • Cocoa/Chocolate: We can add chocolate chips with a tablespoon of cocoa powder for kids.

To Make a Vegan Banana Lassi: To make this recipe vegan, replace dairy yoghurt with your favourite vegan plant-based yoghurt.

Storage: Banana lassi must be consumed shortly after blending to maintain its temperature, texture and taste.

Chill/freeze ingredients: Banana lassi is best served chilled. Start with frozen Banana and chilled yoghurt/Dahi. This way you don’t have to add ice, which dilutes the flavours.

I tried this smoothie the same day when I saw it. The combination of banana and rose syrup gives it an awesome taste. Also the use of curd in this smoothie gives a very smooth texture. All in all my family loved this smoothie very much…
