- 3 tablespoon melted unsalted butter or ghee
- 1 cup Finger Millet/Ragi flour
- ½ cup sugar or to taste
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- Chopped nuts and raisins as per required optional
For Garnishing:
- Dry Fruits Chopped as per choice
- or
- chocolate syrup or chocolate chips or chocolate vermicelli as per choice
Melt the ghee in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat.
Add ragi flour and roast stirring continuously them until you get a roasted aroma.
Add sugar and dry fruits and mix well.
While you are roasting the ragi flour heat the milk separately in another pan.
Add hot milk and cardamom powder stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
Cook the mixture till it starts leaving the sides of the pan.
Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool to a warm temperature.
Transfer the Halwa to a serving dish.
Garnish with chopped dry fruits or chocolate syrup and chocolate chips as per choice.
