Ingredients
1/4cupAlmondssoaked and peeled
500mlFull-fat milk
Pinchof Saffron strands
1/2tspCardamom powder
Sugar or jaggery to taste
1/2tspnutmeg powder
1/2cupWater
1tsp ghee
Instructions
Soak and peel almonds; grind into a smooth paste.
In a heavy bottom pan and add ghee.
Now add wheat flour and roast on low heat till it start giving a nice aroma and becomes light brown(addition of wheat flour is optional but it gives a nice flavour and thickness to the harira)
Add almond paste and roast on low heat to a nice golden colour.
Now add milk and saffron and let it come to a boil and then simmer for 5-8 minutes.
Now add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder.
Add sugar and let it cook for 2 minutes.keep stirring it else it may stick to the bottom.
Remove from the flame.
Garnish with Almond and Pistachio slivers and pinch of saffron and serve piping hot at breakfast or dinner.

Suggestions:You can use a mix of nut powder instead of using almond powder.You can adjust the thickness of the harira as per your preference by adding more or less quantity of milk.
