Ingredients

For the base:

  • 1 cup grated coconut dry
  • 2 cups desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

For the flavors:

  • Rose Flavor: 3 tsp rose syrupor a few drops of rose essence and pink food coloring (optional)
  • Chocolate Flavor: 2 tspcocoa powder

For the coating:

  • 2 tbsp desicated coconut
  • 1 tbsp coca powder
  • 2 tbsp dry fruits slivers
  • 1 tsp chocolate syrup
  • 2 tsp sprinkles

For Filling (Stuff the desired filling)

  • 1-2 tbsp Choco chips
  • 1-2 tbsp Tutti Frutti
  • 1-2 tbsp Dry fruits slivers or grounded
  • 1-2 tbsp Raisins or apricot chopped

Instructions

  • Coconut Mixture base:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of desiccated coconut, 1 cup of grated coconut, condensed milk and cardamom powder. Mix until everything comes together to form a sticky dough.
  • divider it into 3 equal size portions.
  • To Flavour the Mixtures:
  • Cocoa Flavored Ladoo: Add 2 tsp of cocoa powder to one portion and mix well, for deeper colour, add a drop or two of brown food colouring.
  • Rose Flavored Ladoo: Add 3 tsp of rose syrup and a drop or two of pink food colouring to the second bowl. Mix until well combined.
  • Create the Surprise Filling:
  • Take a small portion of each flavoured coconut mixture, about the size of a small Lemon Sized.
  • Place a few chopped nuts or dried fruits in the centre and roll them into a ball, covering the filling completely.
  • Gently wrap the coconut mixture around the filling and roll it into a smooth ball."
  • Repeat with the remaining mixtures.
  • Roll in the desired coating:
  • Once all the ladoos are shaped, roll them in the extra desiccated coconut or desired coating to coat them evenly.
  • Drizzle chocolate syrup.
    Coat it with coca powder and desiccated coconut.
    Garnish the ladoo in the desired coating

Notes

  • The surprise filling of nuts and dried fruits adds a delightful texture contrast.
  • If you want to make it even more special, drizzle the ladoos with a little melted chocolate or garnish them with edible gold or silver leaf for an elegant touch.
