watermelon granita

When it’s this hot outside, watermelon granita is a perfect semi-frozen treat for hot summer days.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 4 cup watermelon cubed
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 cup suger
  • Garnish with mint

Instructions

Blend:

  • In a blender or food processor, puree watermelon until it reaches a thin, even consistency. Stir in lime juice and sugar.
    *If you have seeds in your watermelon, strain them out with a mesh colander.

Freeze:

  • Pour into a baking dish and freeze for about 2 hours. Remove and scrape at frozen sides and top.
    Place back in the freezer. Repeat this process of freezing and scraping, until mixture is completely frozen and scraped.

Notes

  • Store granitas in the freezer in an airtight container.
