Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup green peas
  • 2 teaspoon butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 cup Coriander stems or leaves

Instructions

  • In a heavy bottom deep pan, over medium flame, heat the butter.
  • Add the bay leaf and cinnamon stick in the butter, and sauté for a second.
  • Now add the garlic, and sauté it for about 30 seconds on a low flame.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté until the onions become translucent.
  • Add coriander stem and peas and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add water into it, then follow it boil over a medium flame for 5-10 minutes.
  • Switch off the heat.
  • Now, allow this mixture to cool down completely and then take out the bay leaf and cinnamon stick.
  • Blend in the mixer until smooth.
  • Transfer this mixture into the deep pan.
  • Add a more water if required.
  • Add milk and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add a half cup of milk, salt, pepper and mix well.
  • Turn off the flame.
  • Add fresh cream and stirring continuously.
  • Pour the steaming hot soup into soup bowls and Serve hot.
  • Green peas soup is ready to serve

Notes

Suggestions: 
    • You can skip onion and garlic if you do not like them.
    • You can strain the soup if needed.
    • Adjust the consistency of the soup as per the requirement.
    • Serve it hot for a better taste.
    • You can also reduce or skip the fresh cream as per requirement.
