How to make Til Moongphali (Peanut Sesame) Laddu at home?

White Sesame Seeds — The Main ingredient of this recipe is white sesame seeds, which bring nutrition and deliciousness to this recipe. You may use other coloured sesame seeds if the white ones aren’t available. 

Peanuts — For nutty and crunchy flavours, Add Peanuts to the recipe. 

Jaggery — Jaggery brings about all the sweetness in the recipe. You may also add regular sugar instead of jaggery.

Cardamom Powder- Cardamom powder brings in the flavours that make this recipe completely delicious.

Ghee — It brings more flavour and softness to the laddus besides the beautiful aroma.

Tips Variations and Suggestions

  • Dry roast the ingredients one at a time on medium-low heat stirring frequently
  • You can substitute white sesame seeds for brown sesame seeds
  • Grate the jaggery or break it into small pieces using a pestle
  • I like to use a Mortar and pestle for this recipe but you can also use a blender.

Nutrition 

  • Add a tablespoon of flaxseed meal to the mixture. It adds flavour as well as nutrition to this delicious snack.
  • You can add nuts like cashews, almonds, and even raisins to these Til Ladoos to enhance nutrition.

For vegan variation — You can turn these Ladoos vegan by replacing ghee with coconut oil. The rest of the ingredients remain the same.

Coconut Twist- The sweet aroma of coconut blends melodiously with the earthy notes of sesame and peanuts. So you can also add desiccated coconut.

Chia Sesame Crunch Laddu-You can Boost nutritional content by adding chia seeds. These tiny seeds bring an extra crunch and contribute to the overall health quotient.

Flaxseed Boost:
Add ground flaxseeds for a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids.

Pumpkin Seeds Crunch:

What can I use instead of jaggery?

You can substitute jaggery with regular sugar syrup to prepare the ladoos mixture. Mix it thoroughly and then shape the mixture into ladoos.

How to make Til Moongphali (Peanut Sesame) Laddu

Materials

  • 200- gram sesame seeds til
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 200 gram roughly chopped sticky jaggery Gur
  • 1/2 cup peanuts Roasted and crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom elaichi powder
  • 1 pinch of salt optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Dry roast the sesame seeds in a heavy bottom pan on medium heat for 2-3 minutes, while stirring it continuously and keep aside in another bowl.

Method

  • In a heavy bottom pan on medium flame heat the ghee.
  • Add the jaggery mix well and cook on a low flame for 3-4 or until two threads consistency formed while stirring continuously.
  • Add the roasted sesame seeds, roasted peanuts and cardamom powder, mix well and cook on a low flame for a 1-2 minute, while stirring continuously.
  • Take out the mixture in a greased plate and allow it cool slightly for a minute.
  • Wet your palms with little water and take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a round laddoo.
  • Repeat this process of making ladoos with the remaining mixture.
  • Store them in an airtight container.

Notes

Don’t over roast the sesame seeds otherwise, it will taste bitter.
You need to prepare ladoo when the mixture is little hot (but cool enough to handle).
Storage: These Tilgud Moongphali ladoos can be stored in an air-tight container in a cool and dry place at room temperature. They stay fresh for about a couple of weeks. 
Remember that the specific shelf life can vary based on factors like the ingredients used and the local climate. Always trust your senses – if the ladoos start to develop an off smell or taste, it might be an indication that they are no longer fresh. Following these storage tips will help ensure that your Til Moongphali Gur Ladoo stays delicious for as long as possible.
