How to make Dry Fruits chikki/brittle

Preparation:

  • Dry roast almonds, cashew nuts and pistachios on low flame for a minute and keep aside.

Serves: 16 pieces
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup chopped almonds (badam)
  • ¼ cup chopped pistachio
  • ¼ cup cashew nuts (kaju)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ghee or unsalted butter
Instructions
  1. Pour ghee into a thick-bottomed pan and add sugar and cardamom powder.
  2. Cook until it forms a thick syrup and turns light brown in colour and stir continuously.
  3. Remove from heat and add roasted cashew nuts, almonds and pistachios and mix well.
  4. Now transfer entire mixture on the greased plate or a smooth greased stone surface.
  5. Roll it out thinly with a greased rolling pin.
  6. Cut them into square pieces using a sharp knife.
  7. Allow it to cool completely and serve.
Notes
Don’t heat sugar or jaggery for a long time, it will turn hard.
This recipe uses sugar to make chikki you can replace it with jaggery as well.
