Health Benefits of Pear Pomegranate Smoothie:

  • Pear: pears are high in fibre, low in calories and a good source of Vitamin K and C, copper, and potassium. Potassium: Potassium is important for your body’s cells, organs and tissues to function properly. They are anti-inflammatory, have been shown to improve heart health and may help with weight loss. Pears are high in fibre and have a low glycemic index. Pears prevent a spike in blood sugar and help to control blood glucose levels.

Suggestions:

  • Add one tablespoon of rolled oat or millet flakes if gluten-free for a thick and more fulfilling smoothie.
    recommend adding
  • If you don’t have frozen pear, you can use unfrozen pear. Add 2-3 more ice cubes to compensate! Otherwise, the smoothie will be a little less creamy and thick.

Storage: This Pear Pomegranate Smoothie is not something you can prepare a long time ahead. If you let it rest, the various ingredients will split, with the heavier bits falling to the bottom and the water from the milk and fruits floating to the top. You can stir it again, but it won’t taste the same.
So I recommend not making this more than 10 minutes before enjoying it.

Vegan: If you are vegan, you can replace dairy with almond and coconut.

Variations:

Protein powder: Make it protein-rich by adding a scoop of your favourite protein powder.

Frozen bananas: They add some extra sweetness as well as nutrients. I highly recommend using frozen instead of fresh bananas because it makes the smoothie creamy. Also, make sure to use ripe.

Seeds: Such as chia seeds or flax seeds make great smoothie add-ins.

  • 1 pinch Saffron

Instructions

Preparation:

  • Add crushed saffron to the warm milk and Keep it aside.

Modak Dough

Notes

Suggestion:

Paneer: Instead of ready-made paneer, you can prepare fresh paneer at Homemade for paneer Modak.
Kesar Modak Peda: For this variation, we have to mix a pinch of Saffron into two teaspoons of warm milk for 15 minutes, then add it to the Modak mixture to give it a nice yellow tinge.
For aroma: You can also add a teaspoon of rose water or kewda water to the mixture.
Silver/gold Leaf: Just like this kaju katli, We can decorate the top with edible silver leaf or gold leaf.
Kesar elachi modak: I have added cardamom powder, but you can add saffron and cardamom both for warm and pleasant flavours.

Storage Suggestions

We can store Malai Modak Peda in an airtight container in the fridge. Always store them in a single layer in the container, or use parchment paper between them to avoid sticking.
We can keep Modak Peda in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature. But if you live in hot weather, do not keep them at room temperature. Store them in the fridge.
